Targeted Call for Nominations for Panel Members:
Panel on Research Ethics

Deadline: May 11, 2012 (Closed)

On behalf of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the Secretariat on Responsible Conduct of Research is seeking nominations for a lay/community member to serve on the Panel on Research Ethics (PRE). Candidates should have experience in research ethics as a research participant, and/or a community/lay member of a research ethics board.

Candidates may also be considered for membership on PRE committees working on specific projects for the Panel on Research Ethics.

To be considered for these volunteer positions, please send your nomination package to the or Fax: 613-996-7379 by May 11, 2012. This package must include:

  1. a completed nomination form,
  2. your curriculum vitae, and
  3. a statement of interest responding to the following questions with a maximum of 700 words:
  • What do you see as priority issues in research ethics and why? 
  • How would your experience help you to contribute to the Panel on Research Ethics?
